BRASS STAMPED / LEAD FILLED ONE PIECE BUCKLES
These may be put immediately on the correct type belt.

One-Piece Buckles were the most common issue buckle to enlistedmen of both the Union and Confederate armies. Everyone on foot had to have this very utilitarian item. (Officer's and Mounted troops had two-Piece buckles...We will get to them later) The buckle held the belt on, and the belt held all of your leather gear on. (Military belts & buckles were not issued for holding your pants up) The standard size issue buckles took belts averaging 1 7/8" wide. (much too wide for modern size pants belt loops)

$15.00		Many of the common use buckles, box plates, and breast plates of the Civil War were made by stamping out a brass shell, laying the back hooks or back loops into the shell, and pouring lead to fill the shell. We are still able to offer the following made as per the originals:
OVAL PLATES: With proper arrow head shaped prongs on back "US", "CS", "SNY", "SC", "NC", Texas Star, Georgia State Seal, "OVM"
